Save-the-Dates vs. Invitations

A question past clients always had "Do I go with save-the-dates, formal invitations, or both?"  Save-the-dates give a more concise and to-the-point reference (who - the couple's names, when - wedding date and time, where - venue/location). Oftentimes, save-the-dates pose as the simple details and a wedding website (will be discussed later) adds in-depth information about the upcoming wedding.

Invitations are more detailed some including rsvp cards, maps/directions, and gift registries.  Invitations are also more costly compared to save-the-dates, so definitely keep that in mind when deciding between the two.

I hope this helps with the decision to go with save-the-dates, invitations, or both when you and your fiancé are starting this process.

Wedding Budget

It's a great idea to set a budget to ensure staying within, and at the same time get everything you want for your special day.  I advise my clients to create an excel spreadsheet and list out everything from vendor costs to invitations, as well as wedding favors.  This gives an idea of how much you've spent, as well as keeps you on track.

Let's say your wedding budget is $5k: 100 guests, elegant decor, the venue accommodates ceremony/reception and also includes all the wedding vendor amenities.  Your question to me would be "Is this possible to stay within budget."  My response would be "Yes, of course, with money to spare!"

The most important thing to remember is you have options and research for the best possible price.
